Why 2020 Will Be Your Best Year Yet!
2020 has kicked off with a big bang for Yellow Kite with the launch of THE TWO CHUBBY CUBS’ fantastic low-cal recipe book, which has got their fans salivating as they meal-plan their way through the coming months. Talking of which, we want to make 2020 your best year yet, and our best year of publishing yet, as we celebrate our 6th birthday. We have some amazing books coming this year, covering a huge range of themes and topics all focused on helping you to live a good life, whatever that looks like for you.
Our mission is to publish brilliant books by brilliant minds and to publish books that last, that will find a place on your bookshelf and stay there, for you to return to whenever you need to. Whether you want to overhaul your diet, expand your spiritual life, discover practical ways to train your mind, learn to manage stress, or read about the experiences of someone else in order to help you cope with life’s challenges – we have it covered.
Here are a few 2020 highlights:
In January we publish DRINK? by Professor David Nutt, an important book that examines the science of alcohol. It will help us make informed decisions about our consumption of our beloved booze. When is too much too much? How does it affect our sleep? Should we cut down? Is one glass a day ok? Prof Nutt gives us the absolute lowdown on liquor.
In March we publish Kimberley Wilson’s HOW TO BUILD A HEALTHY BRAIN. Kimberley is a powerful advocate for protecting our brains so we can live for longer with optimum mental health. Her brilliant book outlines lifestyle and diet changes we can all make, and is written with Kimberley’s trademark passion combined with her expert knowledge.
In May we are thrilled to be publishing a new DELICIOUSLY ELLA cookbook. In her new book, QUICK & EASY, bestselling author Ella Mills shares her thoughts and philosophies around healthy living and offers more than 100 new plant-based recipes to help make eating veggies and plants interesting, delicious and easy.
We have two amazing memoirs coming in the first 6 months of 2020: Josh Roberts’ book, ANXIOUS MAN explores what it means to be a young adult male suffering from anxiety. With a foreword by Stephen Fry, this book sheds light on a topic shrouded in stigma. Told with originality, wit and great humour, it’s an essential read and a thought-provoking exploration of the mind.
April sees publication of an astonishing book – LANGUAGES OF LOSS by Sasha Bates, which tells the story of how Sasha’s life as a psychotherapist screeched to a halt when her husband Bill died unexpectedly. It is her attempt to understand what happened in the aftermath. The resulting ‘conversation’ between her grieving self and her therapist self is part memoir and part reflection on grief theories and also provides tips for anyone grieving or supporting a grieving friend.
These are just a few of our titles to whet your appetite for 2020 – we also have STAYING ALIVE IN TOXIC TIMES by Dr Jenny Goodman, I CAN RUN by Amy Lane, the paperback of the bestselling A MONK’S GUIDE TO HAPPINESS in June and more from THE TWO CHUBBY CUBS.
With books like these, covering every aspect of health and wellbeing, it’s going to be our best year of publishing and YOUR BEST YEAR YET, I promise!
